Terlizzi e dintorni
Terlizzi, province of Bari, situated on the Adriatic coast and 30 km far from the chieftown, is a town of about 28.000 inhabitants. It' s located among Molfetta, Ruvo di Puglia and Bitonto. At about 3 km, toward Bari ( toward south) there' s Sovereto, a fraction of Terlizzi. Sovereto is a small urban agglomerate, in which middle there's the Sanctuary of Madonna of Sovereto, in which, from the 23rd April to the Saturday that precedes the first Sunday of August, people can venerate the patron of our town, the Madonna of Sovereto. As Terlizzi, also Sovereto is crossed by the well-known consular way Appia Traiana that, in the past, was run through by lots of pilgrims and by Crusaders to go to Holy Ground. Sovereto rose in XI - XII century A.D. as a convent of monks with a hospital for pilgrims.
Terlizzi is easy to reach because it's licked by motorway (A14 )which is 5 kms far from the tollbooth of Molfetta both from the Adriatic statal road 16 ( s.s. 16 ) which tollbooth is not so far from the motorway one; and from the ex statal road 98 (ex s.s. 98) actually renamed provincial road 231 ( s.p. 231 ). The civil airport of Bari Palese is only 25 km far. For railway transport it' s possible to benefit both of the F.S. station in Molfetta and Bari' s one. A further railway connection with the chieftown is offered by a secondary railway (Bari North) which joins the cities between Bari and Barletta.
